OIL SPILL IN BAY BY KOEBERG NUCLEAR STATION

“Koeberg Nuclear Power Station was also informed, and was on high alert for a possible threat to its intake basin.”

KOEBERG AUTOMATICALLY SHUTS DOWN DUE TO UNKNOWN “PROTECTION TRIGGER”

“The automatic shutdown was triggered by the protection system on a motor due either to mechanical or instrumentation failure,” Eskom said in a statement.

“The shutdown of the unit was unrelated to the oil leak reported recently along the Atlantic coast to the south of Koeberg.”
