OK so L-i-n-k-e-d is a very SEO unfriendly url, firstly because there are zero topical keywords and secondly because the big G is rumoured to have a distaste towards hyphens.
Do I care? Not really. The last blog I authored (685 posts since 2005) was highly topical. And guess what – I painted myself into a corner. I kind of lost interest in the main topic, but all the people that arrived there were primarily interested in that topic. Which is why that blog has dwindled into a-post-a-fortnight.
So I don’t intend to make the same mistake here. Heck – how the F must I know what I’ll be interested in in 3 years time? And if you really want to know what I write about LOOK AT MY TAG CLOUD – that’s what they’re for. (Except don’t look right now as this is my first post and there’s not much cloud about. Yet.) Furthermore, thanks to the automagical technologies of RSS – you can even subscribe to feeds for only the tags you like.
Bottom Line: This blog is pretty much 100% profit motive free. My career life is full – I’m not looking for new business. It’s just an outlet for things that come into my head. Whether linked or UNlinked…
