So here I am playing round with my blog design. I think for now I am going to go with this “shades-of-grey” look.
Here’s a few reasons:
- Much as I like the minimal white look that was sparked by Google at the turn of the millennium, just about every trendy new site on the web now has this look. Me, I want to be a bit different to the crowd.
- I’m a passionate photographer which means that whilst this blog is certainly not intended to be a portfoilio for my photography (see rather my Flickr stream for that), I will be posting pics here from time to time. And personally I prefer pics on a dark background to white. Black is undoubtedly the best, but hopefully dark grey will be cool too. A lot of my photographic work is done in black and white, so this should work really well here.
But here’s the best part about blogging – nothing is carved in stone. Or printed on paper. So if I grow tired of this grey look, a few keystrokes and it will be gone. And this whole post will be look pretty stupid in its new colour-scheme 🙂
