So here’s the scene: Google is about to exit China. Ostensibly because: A couple of Anti-China Human Rights Gmail accounts were hacked. And the hackers ostensibly had sinister links with the Chinese Government…
Big Deal!
Lets get real guys, Google isn’t leaving the biggest online market of the future cos of a couple Gmail accounts getting hacked. The Chinese have been doing this stuff for years. Just do a reverse lookup on your error IPs in your server logs for the past 4 years. Yes, its been like ping-pong out there for many summers.
So what’s the REAL reason the big G has had a fallout with the Peking Regime??
No doubt in the coming weeks/months the real reason will emerge. It could be any number of things.
Here’s one of the scarier possible scenarios (indulge me a little artistic license):
The China Googlebot turns up all sorts of stuff in China right? Presumably there’s a People’s Republic Committee that sifts through this stuff to decide what gets blacked out and what gets through. Presumably too, there’s a Google China Committee that sees the stuff that the People’s Republic Committee want Google to black out.
And for years its been all well and good. Because nothing really nasty has turned up in the “Black Out” basket as yet. Just the Tibetan crap, and death sentence crap, and political dissident crap. The Google Committee must be sick of it by now.
But what if something REALLY bad turned up. Maybe some really bad intents towards the US? Or something so evil and violating of human rights, that if it was ever leaked, the Google Black Out Committee couldn’t possibly say (while retaining any remote link with “Do no evil” ) we saw it but had no option but to censor it. What then?
Then that would, in a sense, make Google complicit. The ultimate Hear No Evil, See No Evil, DO NO EVIL. So how the Fk would G get out of it? They’d have to say to the People’s Republic Committee “listen guys we can’t be party to seeing this stuff, AND censoring it”. We gonna have to stop censoring…

I agree, I don’t think we are seeing everything here
That was a great read. Nevertheless I ponder some times if there is a real foundation to all conspiracy theories, or we all are just doing our best to entertain ourselves with the invented idea of hidden conflict as it gives everybody an opportunity to immerse in life’s drama and fight the dragon. See, imaginary conflict and its effect on our brain is as strong as the actual events, at least it’s how our body reads it. Fear is an incredibly powerful emotion. If something makes us feel afraid, the body instantly releases endorphins, norepinephrine and dopamine. And as you may be aware of the more significant the release of these chemicals, the greater the addiction like symptoms to a conflict. You know what I am talking about, right? Of course, you do. And I am not saying that your article is not the right one, I am just reflecting on general phenomena. Why are we so fascinated by conspiracy ideas?
